Pela 1ª vez, Comissão Guarani Yvy Rupá toma posse no Conselho Estadual de Direitos Humanos do RS

A Comissão Guarani Yvy Rupá (CGY) tomou posse no Conselho Estadual de Direitos Humanos do Rio Grande do Sul (CEDH/RS) em 18 de outubro, na Assembleia Legislativa, em Porto Alegre. A CGY foi a segunda organização mais votada para assumir a gestão 2023/2026.

Esta é a primeira vez que uma organização indígena compõe o CEDH/RS. A cadeira que será ocupada por um indígena, além de possibilitar a proximidade institucional nas questões que infringem tratados internacionais de direitos humanos, também resultará numa aproximação com o Estado e suas instituições.

A vulnerabilidade dos povos indígenas do Brasil frente aos ataques da sociedade não indígena e a invisibilidade na construção de políticas públicas e institucionais fragilizam, cada vez mais, esses povos perante a sociedade não indígena.
